A Yearly Seminar Series for Small-Scale Farmers

Upcoming Sessions: Labour Movement - Functional Movement Pattering for Farmers (August 15 & 16)

Farming places strain on the body, particularly during busy periods like planting, harvest, or peak tourist seasons. This workshop will provide you with the tools and knowledge to minimize workplace injuries, boost efficiency, and promote long-term health and well-being in a season or career.
The Movement Workshop covers BETTER body mechanics and movement patterns in order to decrease injury potential, increase efficiency and extend career longevity, all through the lens of farming-related movement patterns.

We are offering two sessions for this workshop:
1. Thursday , August 15th 4:00-6:00pm at Cropthorne Farm (4362 Tamboline Road, Delta)

Topics covered include:
– Overall health related to farmer well-being
– Movement practice of four high use movement patterns: hinge, squat, push and pull
– Discussion of kneeling patterns, rotation and core stability

Each participant will leave with tips to improve their overall movement health + wellness and there will be a Q&A session after both sessions.

In this session we invited farmers to an honest discussion about personal and systemic challenges, strategies to not only survive but thrive, and perspective shifts that can help us build deeper resilience within ourselves, our farm businesses, and our farm community.

Session Two: Integrated Pest Management
This workshop aimed to guide participants through diagnosing what’s affecting their crops by leveraging the technology readily available in their pockets.
