Please join us for our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, December 3, from 6:00 - 8 pm, which will be held virtually on Zoom.
The Zoom event link will be emailed to all registered participants, one day before the event on December 2nd. Please ensure to download the latest version of the Zoom app to your computer or phone for easy access prior to the AGM to minimize any connection or troubleshooting issues.
6:00 - 6:45 pm - Welcome and AGM governance aspects (election of the new Board, document approvals and more).
6:45 - 7:30 pm - SPEC 2020 highlights presented by staff and volunteers.
7:30 - 8:00 pm - Break out sessions with the SPEC Food, Waste and Energy & Transportation teams and one info session on SPEC and how to get involved.
Mini Breakout Sessions/Workshops
During the event, each of our teams will be facilitating a 30 minute session plus one information session. First, please register for the AGM and then complete this form and select a preference of a breakout session.

Are you curious how you can reduce your food waste in your home? In this interactive and informative session, learn how you can make a difference by taking small steps in your own kitchen to help mitigate and adapt our food systems to climate change.

We’re bringing our tREX tours to you virtually! Join our Energy & Transportation team LIVE at 3 different locations to chat about some of the different sustainable energy production in our city. Our most popular tREX stop will be paired with two other new locations.
Zero Waste: Tips and Tricks by the Pros
Would you like to find out more about how to embrace more of a zero waste lifestyle? Well, here’s your chance to learn from a panel of experts! Ask them all your burning questions and hear how to set up your home bin system for success and discover shopping tips to support local businesses during the pandemic.

Are you interested in learning more about SPEC’s work and initiatives?
Join a group of our staff and Board Members as they chat about SPEC’s involvement in urban sustainability and our areas of work in Food, Waste, Energy & Transportation and through initiatives of the Board such as the Elder's Circle and our commitment to anti-racism and reconciliation as core elements of our identity.
Our members (members are those who received membership through a donation of $30 or more in the last 12 months) will vote on the following matters:
- Approval of AGM agenda and Minutes from the 2019 AGM
- Approval of Fiscal Year 2020 Financials
- Election of the new Board of Directors
