What Is Urban Agriculture?

Urban agriculture is about growing food within our communities.  This leads to increased food security, the beautification of our cities, awareness building and enjoyment.

Urban agriculture may look a little different for everyone:

• An apartment dweller may grow balcony tomatoes or rent a community garden plot
  
• Your neighbour might have a hobby greenhouse
• Your local elementary school might use a learning garden
• Your community might host urban farmer's markets
