Join us for SPEC's School Gardens Program's 10th anniversary celebration and fundraiser on Thursday September 14 at John Norquay Elementary.

Location: John Norquay Elementary School, 4710 Slocan St, Vancouver, BC V5R 2A1 

The evening includes a delicious supper made by Tayybeh Syrian Catering, a silent auction, cash-bar, and an inspirational talk from Brian Minter, titled Connecting People, Plants and the Environment.

A recipient of the ‘Order of Canada’ and an ‘Honorary Doctorate of Technology’, Brian Minter, B.A., is a horticulturist, entrepreneur and co-owner with his wife, Faye, of Minter Country Garden, an innovative destination garden center and greenhouse growing operation in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. Brian is well known from his magazine and syndicated newspaper columns and TV and radio programs. Brian is in demand internationally as a speaker by industry and by gardening and tourism groups. Brian has sat on the boards of many community organizations and has served two terms as the first Chancellor of the University of the Fraser Valley.
